Dyna-mic Duo is the fifteenth episode of Season 1 of the Lalaloopsy™ TV Series.

About[]

When Spot inadvertently makes her realize that she lacks a sidekick, Dyna Might holds auditions to search for one. Meanwhile, Jewel goes overboard pampering Cat for the sidekick audition.

Summary[]

During her busy agenda of saving her friends from jams, Dyna plans on stopping by Pickles' diner for a bite to eat. Only she hears Spot shouting out for help, so she rushes to her rescue. Spot explains that she cannot get the tasty tangy pickle sauce to squirt out of the bottle. Dyna then takes it upon herself to try and get the condiment out of the bottle. After a few failed attempts, the bottle flies in the air, allowing her to squeeze it hard enough for it to splatter all over Spot. Spot then comments on how colorful the sauce looks and then adds a dab of mustard to her pickle burger. But when Spot thanks Dyna for helping, she brings it to her attention that she does not have a sidekick.

Meanwhile at Bea's house, Dyna seeks her help on what to do. Bea shows Dyna a book on superhero sidekicks and goes over the rules on what qualifies a person to become a sidekick. During her explanation, Raccoon desperately tries to perform each feat in the book to grab Dyna's attention. Bea then suggests that Dyna hold auditions to find her sidekick; Dyna agrees and believes the idea was her own.

First to audition is Peanut, who makes a dramatic entrance for Dyna using her booming circus voice. Next to audition is Rosy, who begins to question the rough and physical conditions a sidekick has to go through. She suggests it would be a better idea to just tend to the sidekick's care instead.

Following Rosy's audition is Ace, who introduces his very own gadget, the Really Rugged Rewindable Rope, that he created to aid Dyna in her rescues. The gadget backfires and quickly ties Ace up in a cocoon of rope. Rosy rushes in to get Ace up on his feet, and he states he'll just help out by making gadgets for Dyna.

Lastly, Jewel's pet Cat auditions by meowing incoherently. The girls state that a pet simply cannot be a sidekick. After the audition, Jewel tells Cat that nobody can reject her. They then rush off back home.

Jewel decides to give Cat a huge makeover by pampering her and adorning her in a flashy cape and tiara to compliment her sidekick look.

Back at Dyna's audition, she has the candidates lined up outside while Bea goes over a chalkboard. Raccoon is tied to a tree with a catapult about to fire lemon pudding at him. Spot is the first to try out, but instead of rushing to Raccoon's aid, she gets distracted by loose threads scattered on the grass. Moments before the catapult launches, Raccoon breaks out of his binding to quickly stall the catapult long enough before Dyna can make herself look heroic. But when Spot offers Dyna the friendship bracelet she made, Dyna gets distracted and releases the catapult, launching the pudding at Raccoon.

For Ember's challenge, she must rescue Raccoon from up in a tree. When Dyna gets involved, she tries to save Raccoon herself by climbing the tree. Raccoon intervenes and positions a trampoline right below Dyna, which she uses to jump up but accidentally falls into a puddle of water. Ember steps in to the rescue and charges forth with her trust ladder, getting Raccoon down from the tree and offering Dyna a hand out of the puddle. However, Bea explains to Ember that sidekicks are not supposed to outshine the superhero, prompting Ember to admit that being a sidekick is just not her thing.

For Peanut's challenge, she must race downhill to save a runaway baby carriage. With Raccoon playing as the baby, Peanut uses her unicycle to chase after him. However, when the baby carriage reaches the top of a second hill, it slides down and hits Peanut on the way. She falls into the baby carriage as a result. Seeing them both in trouble, Dyna declares she will save them with the help of the Really Rugged Rewindable Rope. The gadget once again turns out to be useless, and Ace comes to take it to his garage.

Dyna decides to run straight to the runaway baby carriage, but it also crashes into her. Peanut and Dyna are launched out of the baby carriage when it collides with two rocks. Peanut thanks Dyna for inspiring an idea for a new attraction, then leaves. Dyna turns to Bea, asking her who is next, only to find out no one is left. Dyna is disappointed, believing she is not a superhero without a sidekick. She returns to her house in despair; she then hides under her kitchen table, which she calls the "Superhero's Cave of Aloneness". Raccoon also leaves Dyna's house.

Meanwhile, Jewel and Cat finally arrive at the superhero auditions, but they find out from Bea that the auditions have already ended. Reckoning that Dyna would still give Cat a chance to be her trusty sidekick, Jewel, Cat, and Bea travel to Dyna's house.

At her home, Dyna presses the Really Rugged Rewindable Rope to remind herself of how worthless it is. However, it launches ropes that entangle Dyna and the entire house. In the meantime, Raccoon is traveling by a path when he imagines a sequence where he saves Dyna, tied to a train track, from an asteroid heading towards Earth. Realizing how much he means to Dyna, Raccoon decides to return to Dyna's house.

Finally, Raccoon, Cat, Jewel, and Bea appear at Dyna's house. Thinking Dyna's situation is part of the auditions, Cat leaps into action and makes a variety of heroic yet unhelpful poses. Raccoon, however, starts to chew on the ropes to break them apart. Dyna notices the Really Rugged Rewindable Rope just out of arms' reach, and with the help of Raccoon and Cat, presses the gadget and frees herself. Dyna praises Raccoon and Cat; she asks Bea if Raccoon could be her sidekick.

Bea reiterates the sidekick rules and notes, that while Raccoon completes most of the requirements, he still can not say superhero catchphrases. Nevertheless, Dyna chooses to ignore the rules and affirms Raccoon as her sidekick. Dyna and Raccoon also agree to allow Cat to be Raccoon's sidekick. The three then run outside in the sunset as the episode ends.
