Summary[]

Out in the forests of Lalaloopsy Land, Forest and Beaver are ready for another day of work. In each tree, Beaver carves markings for Forest to insert a spigot. Beaver goes faster and faster until he bumps into a large tree that Forest figures was knocked over in a windstorm last night. Forest tries to move the log out of the way, but it is too heavy for him, so Beaver gets to work chewing the log.

Just then, Ace arrives to show Forest and Beaver his new invention: the incredible Robot Beaver! It is a machine that does anything Beaver can, being able to chew, chop, slap, and tap. Ace uses a "switcheroo," or remote, to switch Robot Beaver to "Chew." After a bit of troubleshooting by Ace, Robot Beaver proceeds to rapidly chew the log. Ace remarks to Forest that he won't need Beaver to work so hard because of Robot Beaver. Unfortunately, Beaver misinterprets Ace's statement, believing that he is now unneeded and unwanted by Forest. Beaver, distraught, carves a drawing of Forest and Robot Beaver into a tree, then sets out to find someone who needs him.

Suddenly, Robot Beaver malfunctions and starts chewing at a dangerously fast rate. Forest begs Ace to make the robot stop, but he can't. His "whatchamagiggy," or remote, is "kablooey", or is non-functioning, and he and Forest must duck down to avoid the flying slabs of wood released by Robot Beaver's chewing. To stop it, Ace punches Robot Beaver in the head, seemingly deactivating it and causing it to release smoke. Ace apologizes to Forest for Robot Beaver going haywire. Forest says to Ace that it's okay, as he knows Ace did his best. He just feels bad that Beaver won't be able to take a break. At that moment, Forest realizes that Beaver is missing.

Beaver is walking through the rainy forest when he sniffs out a trail of smoke. He follows the trail to Crumbs' house. Inside, Crumbs gives Mouse a batch of freshly baked jelly cookies to taste-test. Mouse ends up eating most of the cookies under the guise of not being sure about their tastiness. Beaver rings the doorbell. Crumbs opens her front door and sees that Beaver is hungry, so she lets him in. Beaver helps out Crumbs with baking the second batch of cookies, while Mouse eats the cookies from the first batch. Crumbs warns Mouse that Beaver may take over his job as baker's assistant, then takes his chef hat and puts it on Beaver. Crumbs and Beaver quickly realize how upset this makes Mouse, so Beaver returns the chef hat to him. Crumbs reassures Mouse that no one could ever replace him. Beaver decides to leave the house, knowing that Crumbs already has a pet she needs and appreciates. Crumbs assumes that Beaver just lost his appetite. Beaver then carves a drawing of Crumbs and Mouse on a tree.

Forest looks for Beaver, while Ace deals with the runaway Robot Beaver. Upon finding Beaver's tree carving of him with Robot Beaver, Forest realizes that something has gone very wrong. When Forest asks Ace why he can't just turn off the robot, Ace admits that he forgot to install an off switch since the other switches took up too much room. Ace decides to switch from "Chew" to "Tap" to slow it down. Ace believes he now has everything under control, so Forest goes off to search for Beaver. Just as Ace wishes Forest good luck, Robot Beaver reactivates and proceeds to drill a hole into every tree it can find. Forest briefly returns to instruct Ace to stick the spigot in the notch and tap the sap into the pail before giving him plenty of pails. Ace barely understands the assignment.

Mittens builds a snowman with Polar Bear's help. As Mittens tries to keep one of the snowman's stick arms from falling off, she notices Beaver walking by and asks him if he could help her and Polar Bear. Beaver carves the branch to be more stable on the snowman. Mittens asks Beaver if he could suggest any new snowman ideas, so he creates a sculpture of a girl slightly resembling Mittens out of snow. Mittens is amazed by Beaver's artistry and remarks that his work ought to be in a museum. Polar Bear is upset at how inferior his own snowman is to Beaver's, so Mittens reassures him that his snowman is beautiful too. Beaver leaves and carves a drawing of Mittens and Polar Bear onto a tree.

In the forest, Ace frantically tries to block all the holes in the trees drilled in by Robot Beaver. Monkey also places buckets by the other trees to collect the flowing sap. Meanwhile, Forest is strolling through the woods, calling for Beaver to come back. He hears his stomach rumbling and figures that Beaver must be just about as hungry as he is.

Forest goes to Crumbs' house in search of Beaver. The moment Forest opens the door, Crumbs quickly puts a jelly cookie inside Forest’s mouth and asks him about the taste, wanting to know what ingredient the jelly cookies could be missing. Forest tries to tell Crumbs that Beaver is missing, but she mishears him as saying "meatloaf" and "mincemeat" due to his muffled speech. Crumbs goes on to feed Forest more cookies, one with orange zest and another with a dash of salt. Forest asks about Beaver again, and Crumbs reveals that Beaver was in her house, helping her with the kitchen. When asked by Forest where Beaver went, Crumbs says she isn't sure but notes that Beaver seemed "less energetic" than usual. Forest thanks Crumbs for her help and takes a few cookies from her, then leaves to continue searching for Beaver. On his way, Forest examines a drawing of Crumbs and Mouse carved onto a tree.

Ace continues to try and stop Robot Beaver's rampage. When Monkey ties her tail around Robot Beaver’s neck to hold onto it, Ace traps the robot with a net. However, Robot Beaver destroys the net and escapes. Ace and Monkey watch as Robot Beaver prepares to drill the biggest, sappiest syrup tree in the forest.

At Bea's house, Beaver looks through the window as Bea tells Owl about how they will need a better way of organizing their library. Beaver then knocks on the door, and Bea lets him in. Bea notes how hard it would be to find anything in all the clutter in her house. Beaver decides to rearrange the books alphabetically by subject, then by author, and finally by color. Bea congratulates Beaver for his exemplary book-shelving skills. Beaver notices how upset Owl is feeling, and he imagines a sad scenario where he has replaced Owl as Bea's pet. Bea then praises Owl for being an exemplary pet at helping her find books on the highest shelf. She turns to thank Beaver with a few books, only to realize he has left. Outside, Beaver carves a drawing of Bea and Owl onto a tree and goes off on his way.

Forest comes across Mittens and asks her if she has seen Beaver. Mittens says that she has, then reveals a museum made of snow and ice that contains Beaver's snow masterpiece of a sculpture. Forest asks Mittens if she saw where Beaver went. Mittens hasn't, as she and Polar Bear were too busy admiring Beaver's artistic abilities. Forest sees a drawing of Mittens and Polar Bear carved into a tree, giving him an idea of where Beaver could be.

Ace sees that Robot Beaver is about to crush the remote control if he doesn't stop it in time. Monkey suggests flying as a way to get there fast, but Ace says that he can't fly. Ace then suggests that Monkey can fly, so Ace picks up Monkey and throws her in Robot Beaver's path. Monkey picks up the remote, and Ace advises her to "twizzle" the "switcheroo." In other words, turn the remote to anything but "Tap." Monkey does as instructed, and Robot Beaver seemingly stops. Ace picks up Monkey and twirls around, excited that he has ended the robot’s rampage. Unfortunately, Ace looks at the remote and realizes that Monkey has switched Robot Beaver to an even more dangerous setting: Timber! Robot Beaver extends a buzzsaw out of its chest and proceeds to chop down trees.

Left under the impression that no one in Lalaloopsy Land needs him, Beaver climbs up a tree and naps on a branch. Meanwhile, at Bea's library, Forest is saddened to learn that Bea doesn’t know where Beaver is either. Bea hands Forest the two books she planned to give to Beaver and reassures him that he'll find Beaver eventually. As he goes off on his way, Forest sees a drawing of Bea and Owl carved onto a tree and sighs. He is so tired and has no idea where to look for Beaver, but he refuses to give up on his search.

Ace and Monkey look on as Robot Beaver saws a tree into pieces, releasing logs that roll down a hill. Nearby, Beaver wakes up from his nap and sees that the rolling logs are about to crash into Forest. Beaver rushes to the rescue and chews each of the logs to woodchips before they can hurt Forest. Ace finally gets an idea of how to stop Robot Beaver. He tells Monkey to grab a bucket of syrup and climb up a tree that's just above Robot Beaver. Monkey pours the syrup onto Robot Beaver, ending its rampage once and for all.

Forest goes up to Beaver to thank him for coming back. He reassures Beaver that he can never be replaced. After all, Robot Beaver is just a mindless machine, while Beaver is his best friend. Forest hugs Beaver, who goes on to carve a drawing of him and Forest onto a tree. The two walk side by side as the episode ends.
